TRONDHEIM

Nidaros-domen, the 12th century cathedral

Trondheim, or Nidaros, is a town in the middle of Norway. The population of our beloved local remainder of paradise is 140.000. The university dominates the town, largely due to its 18.000 students and the unknown amount of employees and connected businesses.

Trondheim was, contrary to common belief, not so much a center for vikings, as the religious center of northern Europe in the Middle Ages. The inhabitants like to call their town the historical, the religious and (by all means) the technology capital of Norway. The town celebrates its 1000-years anniversary in 1997 - a year which, due to the modesty of the locals, may be a wise time not to visit the town.
