The Fantasy Rules Committee is beginning its 10th round of play.
The Judge is Storm (mkkuhner@genetics.washington.edu) and the unofficial
theme for this round is diplomatic correspondence between the nations of
Florin and Guilder.

For a copy of the FR Committee Rules, or to join the game, please write
to the Judge.  New players have 1 week from the start of the game (July
14, 1993) to submit a fantasy rule in order to be eligable for further
play.

I will not be posting FR Committee affairs to the general list, so if
you want to participate or spectate, please let me know so that I can
add you to my mailing list.

Most Esteemed and Revered Embodiment of the Fine Nation of Guilder:

WHEREAS

Honours and florid compliments are known by the wise to be without value
and void; that to demand the same signifies an unenlightened nature full of
insecurity and self-doubt; and that the greater the compliment, the greater
the lie;

BE IT RESOLVED THAT

All future rules, posted by representatives of Florin or Guilder, shall
begin and end with expressions of obsequiousness, cringing, grovelling,
self-abasement, the utter worthlessness of the poster and his or her nation
(be it Florin or Guilder), and/or the great, yea, god-like excellence of
the opposing nation and its representatives.  In these qualities each rule
must outdo all previous successfully posted rules in this round of the
game.  Our esteemed Judge for this round, whose rule is just and generous
and from whose keyboard shines the light of perfect wisdom, shall exercise
her judgement of whether a rule has these qualities in sufficient measure.
