Rules.
======
RULE 21:1 VALID (1 Point)
Date: Tue, 26 Jul 94 14:10:58 -0400
From: alyxx@NADC.NADC.NAVY.MIL (A. Feltser)
Message-Id: <9407261810.AA24732@NADC.NADC.NAVY.MIL>

My rule comes first, so I am, by definition, the first person! I want
everyone to justify their rule somehow, because then I will be able to
see just how very twisted you all can be!

====================================
RULE 21:2 INVALID (1 Point)
Date: Wed, 27 Jul 1994 08:58:15 +0200
From: Stein.Kulseth@TF.tele.no

I don't go out anymore on account of the stars.

I can hardly decide what is worst: Nighttime when they leer
maliciously down from the pitchblack eternal void,
or daytime when they hide behind the deceptively innocent
blue of the illuminated atmosphere.

Knowing what I know, I keep indoors, beneath these gambrel
roofs which give at least a parodical illusion of protection.

====================================

RULE 21:3 VALID (0 Points)
From: Stephen Turner <S.R.E.Turner@statslab.cam.ac.uk>
Date: Wed, 27 Jul 94 11:49:40 -0100

I demand that no subsequent rule should be the same as me. This is so
that I can be unique!

====================================

RULE 21:4 VALID (1 Point)
From: Dave Wagner <dgwagner@math.uwaterloo.ca>
Date: Wed, 27 Jul 1994 11:16:57 -0400

I insist that all future sentences be encoded somehow, so that the enemy
cannot discover the true meaning of my rules and use them against me.
(Thebeby ababare libibistibibinibibing, youboubou knobobow!)

I know this is quite absurd, and by myself, I would never thought of
such a thing, but if you ask me, it seems clear that, in order to best
fulfill the theme, all rules must contain the words "me", "myself",
and "I".

RULE 21:7 INVALID (1 Point)

From: "luke (l.j.) koops" <koops@bnr.ca>

I want all rules to be encoded using a zero shift caesar cipher, that
way I will be able to understand all of the rules, and I can get this
#%@*&ing game moving again. My obfuscated expletive, is not an
encryption, and thus does not violate this rule. A caesar cipher is
one in which I shift along the alphabet by n when I translate each
letter. This rule is an example of a zero shift cipher.

Following the Judgment of 21:28 and 21:29.
The latter was a very hidden Rule, which I prefered to rule
UNSUCCESSFUL. For details, see below.

I have one other Rule `on ice', Stein's Tuesday morning Rule.

I remind members who have not yet done so, that they have about 10 hours
left to post a first valid rule.

...was rule 21:14 ruled VALID or INVALID? It's a really tricky restraint,
and one I'd be glad to get rid of <g>. (the 24-word deal) Actually, the
validity of that rule is inversely connected, in my opinion, to the validity
of Stein's 21:28. If 21:14's valid, Stein's hint/justification is disallowed..

Also, I wanted to respond to something Judge Ronald said earlier about "no
accounting for taste!" in regards to my "Kohlrabi is luscious" statement.
It opens up a wider area of discussion...

Regarding "eatables": portraying "eatables" (21:25) as "likeables" 8^)
allows little leeway... (paper's _readily_ edible! Very _inky_, often... 8^) )
Unresolved subtleties --> rather unexpected looseness... ex.: skip 21:16--
"name" Ocean Willy.

Game's gettin' confusing... rules everywhere... even hidden ones...
(I'm cracking up!! <g>)

>>>>>>>>>>>

I received from Stephen only the translation of his Rule, but as
he fell straight in the trap that Wizard Stein had set in his previous
Rule I will judge it immediately.

The point is this. 21:34 imposes that each rule mentions the players
still eligible. However, Regular Ordinance 7 says:
"At the end of a Round the Player who has collected the
most Style Points will be known and addressed as The Wizard in the
 next Round."

While Stephen mentions `Stein' he should have addressed him as
`The Wizard'.

Note that I would have accepted `The Wizard' as `The' does not equal
`the' which is forbidden. Besides Regular Ordinances take precedence
over Rules.

I gave Wizard Stein 0 Points for his Rule, as the loophole in his trap
was really tiny.

Greetings,
Ronald
